Spiritual Shedding
There’s something holy about shedding. Not just the letting go of what’s no longer needed, but the deep, intuitive knowing that something within is transforming. Recently, I found myself triggered by an unexpected message. It made me question my enoughness. But as I meditated, I saw the vision: scales falling. A shedding. Not of skin, but of self-doubt.
I began circling the same words over and over in my journal—
Not enough.
Less valuable.
Self-worth.
These weren’t just thoughts. They were the second skin I had worn without knowing. In my vulnerability, I asked my Father to help me let it all fall away. That’s when He whispered: It’s not what must be shed outward—but inward. Once you release inwardly, your brilliance will be revealed outwardly.
I thought of reptiles. How they shed when they’ve outgrown their current layer. How do they know when it's time to shed and how do they naturally allow the process to occur? How they don’t fear the shedding. They simply obey the rhythm of their own growth.
In some way this time of reflection was showing me that this discomfort and triggering revealed a dullness within myself. Somewhere and somehow my vision was clouded and something was getting in between me and purpose. This email was a trigger no doubt, but were there signs that I was missing like hiding my authentic self because I didn't see my own worth? Hiding because I feared rejection with the belief I was not enough?
This was another opportunity of transformation. An opportunity for me to seek refuge within and restore my authenticity. I could use this trigger and frustration to ignite a call back to my power through solitude.
While in this time of refuge, through the number 808, my father reminded me that at the center of my shedding was his presence. His essence. All that was being stripped away was only making room for more of who I truly am.
So, if you're shedding too, take heart. Let the old fall away- not in shame, but in reverence. This is your growing season. And you are not becoming less. You are becoming free.
Reflection:
“My value is not performance-based. My worth is not on trial. My shedding is not a sign of failure—it’s proof of transformation.”
